Thought I'd try Costco's Kirkland Competition pellets, just because I walked by and saw them. With two smoke tubes of pellets and hickory chips, I couldn't tell if pellets were any better or worse than PB pellets that I have pretty much stuck with from the start. Anyway, family wanted ribs and neighbor brought over a couple of baby backs. Used Killer Hog The BBQ rub and Townsend (local) Sweet BBQ rub. Had some fun and ribs came out fine.

Making me hungry!

Anymore, I use the PB pellets in the hopper and the Bear Mountain pellets in the smoke tubes/tray. I like the smoky results using this combo.

So much great food, tips and tricks in here.

I haven’t actually used the grill in a while but today I cooked some pork tenderloin and used the grill like an oven. Set to 425F and cooked them for 30 minutes on a pan on the grates with broiler closed.

The grill held temp pretty steady. I laid the temp probe on the pan between the 2 pieces of meat cause that’s what I wanted to read. Had a low of 224F and a high of 233F.

They turned out great. Tender and juicy.

I used a mix of Pitt boss hickory and competition blend pellets. Also I usually empty the hopper but these pellets sat in there for better than month and all went well. 👍🏻

Our local grocery store has St. Louis Style Ribs on sale (buy one get one free) so I’m trying these today. I like to use mustard before I apply the rub. I’m using our favorite rack rub with Pit Boss competition rub and cowboy butter along with a spritz of apple cider vinegar/Dr. Pepper. Using a mix of competition/Apple blend pellets. Hoping these turn out well.
