I cleaned out the stuck auger but now the temp will only rise to 175 and then the auger stops.

Make sure the auger is working properly. Turn the grill and watch the pellets feed into the fire pot and see if it stops.

It works, feeds the pellets, smoke and fire, but no matter what temp I set once it gets to about 175 the auger stops feeding.

call Pit Boss and have them send you a new controller and RTD probe.

I finally got around to replacing the parts, got the temp up to 250, but the auger kept getting stuck. I then pushed the pellet down to free the auger and hand fed the pellets. but then the auger just stopped. I pulled the auger this morning clean it, sanded it, and cleaned out the tube, but the auger still wouldn't move... new motor?

Very well could be the motor or the sheer pin that connects the motor to the auger.

can you visually see if the motor is turning...like mike said the sheer pin might be broken.
