Temp is to hot

I have a rancher xl purchased 3 weeks ago. havent been able to use it yet as the temp gets 50 to 100 degrees too hot. they sent me a new controller but it is the same. Now i am waiting for a new temp probe. I dont think it will fix it as the auger runs to much. I took the probe out and laid it on the rack so it would see that it is too hot but it keeps augering pellets even though the reading is over the temp setting. Set on smoke it goes to 225 and set at 250 it goes to 330 to 390. I test with my own temp probe as well as their probes. THe auger doesnt run constantly but too much. I am over this thing.

Honestly I am with you I do not believe it is the temp probe. I believe Pit Boss is still sending out bad controllers.

just got off the phone with them. She swears that its the temp probe. But it will be 3 and a half weeks getting to me. Im taking it back and i hope the store dosnt give me guff.

Nah you should be fine it is less than 30 days. let us know of the outcome.
