Desperate need of some help, bought a new smoker from lowes and if I put it on smoke it just cranks the temps to 400 plus. I dont want to take this 200 thing back if its operator error. I just turned it off and let it shut down for 15 minutes, powered on in the smoke setting and boom lots of smoke and smelled good, 2 minutes later it 300 degrees and climbing.

Hmm, sounds like something is up with that controller. It shouldn't be doing that. What brand of pellets are you using?

Where are you getting the temp readings? Doesn't look like the probes are plugged in.
I am looking at the controller temp for the grills internal temp. I had it at 200 and it was running up to 325 to 330. Smoker was empty so no probes needed. It did it again last night, had to turn it off and back on
