So I was just looking over my last post. Someone made mention that pellet grills don't render the best smoke.

Why is that? Could it be because of the way that these things are designed?

I'm going to upload some pics. Hopefully in the third one you can make out the holes in the back of the device (there are five of them). Should those holes be plugged? Because when I ran my dad's smoker, the auger wans't continuously generating pellets thru the flight. The smoke came in batches. I don't recall the smoke coming out of the back of the device, BUT, he had a chimney on his smoker. The food came out decently smoked? (Im not a smoking connoisseur).

So if you have a bunch of holes in the back of the thing, and smoke is ALSO escaping out from the sides where the door meets the unit, I'm going to go ahead and presume that it might be best to try and seal this unit up a bit, wouldn't you agree?

There is a side attachment on this thing for me to attach a chimney. Should I do it?
