New to pellet smokers so I am asking if this is normal. I have a Laredo 1000 and have already replaced two controllers. Once for the display going out and once for the fan control. Question for the community, how long should it take for the grill to reach 335 deg? It takes a long time for the auger to get pellets to the burn box then 30 to 45 minutes to reach temperature. So, it is taking an hour or so to start cooking. That feels excessive? Am I wrong?

You’re exactly right in this case but on these 30-45 minutes is normal
Turn the dial to high so it’ll feed pellets continuously then dial it back when you get within 20-30 degrees of 350 degrees
Make sure the chimney is adjusted out 2-2 1/2 minutes and of course leave the lid open when you first start it up
Make sure your pellets are fresh and the fire pot is clean
It’ll slow the process if it’s not clean
Hopefully this helps you 🇺🇸🇺🇸
