So I got a pit boss 440 for Christmas and love the dang thing. It puts out an awful amount of smoke which is what I’m used to coming from wood smokers. I got the new KC last weekend and it doesn’t seem to smoke at all. It seems like it is more like an oven... anyone else noticing this?

Yes! The same thing is happening on my combo. Although I might have bad pellets (the bag was bought at Walmart and found to have a hole in it so I thought the pellets were just damp. I talked with a Youtube! reviewer and he had the same thing with his. The fire burns too clean or hot to produce the copius amounts of smoke we are looking for. He had to add a pellet tube to his $800 grill. :(

not surprising at all as this is common concern with the new Platinum grills.

I thought the same thing I got an Austin XL and that thing puffs and I was worried about the KC, but honestly I been fretting solid smoke rings and flavor, here’s some pictures of a pork butt I did last night making sliced pork on the KC. Used Hickory pellets on this but I’ve gotten the same results on the competition blend as well both from Pitboss.

My wife & daughter both are not fans of heavy smoked meat. The KC is doing just fine here.

That looks great! It looks like your model is working perfect. The pics below of my first pork butt on the PBC were from my second long smoke on the grill with a 4 hour smoke tube using PB compeition pellet blend. I had to finish off in the oven due to a thunderstorm coming in on the last hour.
