I will say that app is pretty garbage for me. Connects very slowly, and maybe 10-15% of the time it wont connect.
Then when trying to controll temps say from 225 to 250 I can't get it to switch over to set temp, it just stays on actual temp. Adjusting it does nothing most times.

Good luck. My phone is able to adjust the temp by connecting with Bluetooth. I can never get it to show the actual temp or probe temperature.
I’ve tried various methods to get it working and nothing does it. I really believe pit boss is sending out defective equipment that needs to be completely recalled.

SmokeIT app appears to be working fairly well for me now. I get the middle screen icon and can set the temp with it and the pit and smoker cabinet (Lockhart) actual temps appear above that and to the left. Seems they added a few things since I used it last. The "Tools" icon lets you turn on notifications, a timer can be set, and target temps can be set for each of the 4 meat probe sensors but it doesn't give any notifications for the meat probes. Unfortunately, when I leave the app page and come back to it, it completely reloads and doesn't keep the probe set temps but it does keep the timer. Now if they could allow a minimum temp to be set in case of a mechanical/electrical failure, that would help a lot!
