Thanks needed a little humor this morning. Could not remember what most sizes at local grocery were. Academy locally does not keep CS 1600 in stock would have to order and ship to store.

In all seriousness, I have the 1600 pro. It has a ton of room. Here is a pic of an almost 14lb butt I have going right now for reference.

How many average size pork butts will fit on 1250 competition compared to 1600 competition.

I always leave space between each butt, brisket and all for smoke flow around each one no matter the size of the smoker.And extra to crutch.
Good Eat's Guy says a catch pan / water pan needs to have 4" gap between bottom of roast and top of pan, anything less tends to steam the roast. It's all about the circulation. That's what I try to do.
