Had a problem with my upright Pro series smoker. It works great, but I managed to mess up. The pellet bin caught on fire and burned up all the wiring. In a heartbeat. And melted the controller. What I believe was the cause was somehow the ignitor had slipped back into its housing. They controller was dumping out pellets as called for. At some point, they got high enough in the fire box to ignite, but traveled back through the Augur housing. Ignited bin.

SO, if you seem to have problems with temp control, this could be an issue. What they need is a temp sensor in the bin for that. I will now use a spare temp probe in the bin just in case.

I am an engineer, so I will get a new controller and rewire myself. Not brain surgery. . Wiring harness not really available from China any more. That is one of my main gripes with Pitt Boss. During Covid, it was terrible.
