New to pellet smokin

Hello all, I'm new to smokin with a pellet smoker. Been smokin for many years with wood and then gas. Learning the nuances of pellet smokin. Any advice is welcome.

With gas and wood, did you use different flavors of wood? I've used Cherry for chicken, and Hickory for beef and bacon.
