was cooking bacon and had a grease fire. this is the second time. first time I let the fire burn out and everything worked fine. This time the grill is not working properly. When I turn it own I can't control the temp. It just goes to the highest regardless what I have set on the control panel.

Should I replace the control panel?

how big was the grease fire? Check to make sure that the fire did get over to the thermostat probe that goes to the controller as if the wire has melted and it could be shorting out causing the controller to malfunction.

You replaced the thermostat temperature probe and the control panel. Did the thermostat temperature probe come with a complete cable going from the control panel to the probe? It sounds like the control panel doesn't know what temperature is going on inside of the grill.
