Trying to cook 3 pound brisket how long to smoke it on a pit boss and how long to let it rest thanks for any help

always low and slow 225 or lower depends on how much smoke flavor you want till it reaches the the 160 temp I have cooked ribs at 150 just to slow thing down for flavor and to aid in the break down in the protein of the meat for tenderness and baste often for moisture
