My go to is normally Knob Creek when I am mixing a Sidecar or Basil Smash. For drinking straight up it is either Woodinville or Heaven Hill. I recently picked up a bottle of Heaven’s Door Bob Dylan’s new Bourbon but have not tried it yet. My wife got me the clear cube for Christmas, they really do work.

I drink my Bourbon neat and straight up (I know, "PEASANT"), so I don't know much about these gizmos, but does it really take 30hrs to make two balls? What's the technology that makes them balls come out crystal clear?

For clear ice there has to be two chambers. The clear ice is produced when the cold comes in from the top. The sides and bottom are very well insulated, preventing freezing from the sides and bottom. As the ice forms slowly, the impurities are forced down into the large bottom chamber, leaving the balls or cubes (whichever style you choose) crystal clear. Mine takes about 24 hours for the balls to form and very little ice formed in the bottom chamber. Its kinda cool...pun intended

I'm like you and like mine neat and to lazy to worry about ice shapes. LoL
