I don't really have a favorite but I do prefer a BiB or higher proof bourbon/whiskey. How many here use alcohol in their cookin? Either to add the flavor or carry another flavor.

I try to stock up on Kentucky Spirit, it's a single barrel Wild Turkey. It's pretty seasonal around here, I think they only bottle it late summer. Rare Breed is their barrel strength at around 125 proof if I remember.

Old Forester Prohibition is another good high proof.

Sazerac Rye is a goto for me as well. One is on the counter next to the KS. Blanton is good but pretty spendy.

I use alcohol every time I light the smoker, or do you mean IN the food?

I had to drop beer some years ago due to a dietary thing, but not to be deterred my wife took up mixology and has become quite good at it. So for mixed drinks the specific booze doesn’t matter so much. However drinking straight we prefer something from the Copper Fox Distillery located in Williamsburg Virginia. Currently working on a bottle Peachwood American Single Malt Whisky. Hers goes over crushed ice. Mine as is.

I like a Rye when I do Beef Ribs or Brisket. Especially in my spritz.

Soak some pineapple in Crown apple. Then smoke/grill it and give it a lite coat of raw sugar when you pull it off.

In a fan of quite a few. I have close to 500 bottles in my collection. I’d say a favorite just daily drinker of mine though is whistle pig.

I have yet to run into it but was given some Whistle Pig Smoke. Was VERY nice

even Williams honey whiskey make a good sipper on ice very smooth no bite my second choice is salted Carmel whiskey
