For me it would have to be ice cubes. I had a smoked old fashioned at a distillery (they use a smoke gun and bell jar) and thought it was awesome! Thought I'd try my version, so smoked some ice cubes. This was before I bought smoker tube, so basically melted them down to water and refroze.
Put some into whiskey, and it tasted like someone had put their cigarette out in my drink! Also, ruined the ice cube tray. Maybe it was the hickory pellets I used...
