Hey all! I'm new here and I'm just saying hi! I just finished burning off my new 850 Pro Series from Lowes. My previous, and first, smoker was the 465D. So far I'm really happy with the upgrade. I love the 10° increments on low temps, and I can quickly tell that this is a heavier-duty grill.
It's slower to change temp, but that's probably due to the newer controller, right?
Either way, it's good to be here and Let's Go Pit Boss!

Welcome, I recently upgraded from the Pit Boss Lexington and I absolutely love the 850 Pro.

Fired mine up and timed temp changes. Took 12 mins to hit 180° smoke temp. Ran that for a hour then turned to 300°. Took 29:25 min to hit. Turned it down to 220° and let it cruise to my wrapping temp. After wrapping grill temp 208° turned to 400 and waited. 28:12 min.
So for today's cook my grill did what I ask it to. My pork chops and country style ribs. Tasted more like ham than BBQ. Flavor was there but texture was all wrong.

Welcome to the forum @the_horak - Congrats on the new Smoker! How did the first cook come out?

Not bad! Only did ribeye steaks so far. I need to learn how to reverse sear again. Very different than the 465 that I had before. I struggled to get enough flame and the steaks were a little undercooked and not charred enough
