They turned out pretty good. Moist and tender, but they could use more smoke. The one with the thinner fat cap was more flavorful. Not bad for my first tri-tips!

Ive smoked a few of them and they always turn out great. I now cut the tip part off and put a thermometer in the tip and big part and both turn out great. Yours looks good.

The one with the thicker fat cap didn't get enough smoke flavor. I'm definitely trimming it off next time. I had no issues finding a good spot for the thermocouples.
