I'm doing a Tri- Tip today wish me luck
I was told to cook at 225 until you reach 130 it's over a little of 2 lbs any tips would be appreciated.

Thank you.Ive smoked Tri Tips. I smoke at 275 until the meat hits 160. I wrap in brown butcher paper, til it hits 200. Let it rest a bit in the paper. Tastes like brisket. Tender, juicy.
i went to 130f, then roughly 4 minutes a side, beautiful.I cook mine at 225 until I hit about 120 and then throw it over a sear burner for a couple minutes on each side to get a char on the outside.
