I'm doing a Tri- Tip today wish me luck 😊 I was told to cook at 225 until you reach 130 it's over a little of 2 lbs any tips would be appreciated.
 
Ive smoked Tri Tips. I smoke at 275 until the meat hits 160. I wrap in brown butcher paper, til it hits 200. Let it rest a bit in the paper. Tastes like brisket. Tender, juicy.
 
I do my tri tips just like brisket as well, easy to dry out, they are very lean. wrap at 160-165, take off at 201, then wrap again in aluminum foil over the butcher paper to keep in moisture in, wrap in towels in cooler for a couple of hours. They are awesome.
 
I cook mine at 225 until I hit about 120 and then throw it over a sear burner for a couple minutes on each side to get a char on the outside.
