Yesterday I used my grill and it took three hours for the grill to reach temp of 250f. I’ve had issues with it before and even replaced the heating probe. Any ideas to the problems I could use the help. I have a platinum laredo1000. I did buy a igniter that’ll be in tomorrow so imma try that out. If that doesn’t work Idk maybe a gasket for the lid just in case it’s been warped after so much use it’ll help hold the heat. Also does anyone know where I can buy the middle rack to replace my old one. It was lost during moving.

I'd call Pit Bos Tech support 877 303 3134 option 2 might be a bad temperature probe or controller.
Well I got this grill from a friend around the end of summer he didn’t want it anymore. So I didn’t have contact info or any other specs of the grill. Besides the name. I did research so I replaced the temp probe and working on the igniter right now. So if it doesn’t continues I’ll have to keep replacing parts. I was just curious if anybody else had the same issue so I can just replace the one part.

If someone knows better please jump in and clarify, but it seems to me that once the igniter does its job getting things started it's done. From there on it's up to the auger and the fan to work together to get you where you want to go in conjunction with the built-in software is sending the right information to the devices.

The Smoke IT app says it’s up to date on software. And the only error code I got was ERL but I closed the smoke pipe at the top when it snowed and had forgotten to open it other then the amount of time it takes to heat up it seems fine. It just take roughly three hours to get get to 250

A week or so ago I had a situation where I set to H to do a burn off and the temperature just lingered in the mid 100s. But when I manually changed the setting it kicked right in like it was supposed to. That was the only time I noticed anything like that.
My hearing isn't the best but when the pot kicks in correctly it roars like a jet engine.

So out of curiosity I timed how long the start up was on my PB1150pro2. Ignition to a torchy roar took 22 mins then I set the temp to 350 manually and that took 18 mins to reach 350. Outside temp was 19. I didn’t use the app for any temp settings. I think that’s pretty good to reach that temp. I backed it down to smoke mode for a split Turkey breast.

Ya once it gets going, I hear it do the same. The augur pushes out plenty of pellets. I’m thinking on getting a rubber heat gasket to put on the lid to see if that’ll help keep the temp better. If it doesn’t I’ll have to start replacing the fans next.

I’ll time everything after the heat element is replaced but when I ran it to 350 about two weeks ago it took 5 hours just to reach that temp. I’ll time the augur for dropping pellets and how long it’ll take to get to the roar of the fan.

So I had finally gotten home and replaced the element. I had stuck it out a 1/4 of an inch. The previous one was at the level mark of the ring. So that may have been the issue. It’s working a lot better. But it still took my grill an hour to get over 200 and to get to temp took an extra 15 minutes.

Has the grill been cleaned? Are you using good quality pellets and not damp old ones?
The pellets seem to be fine they are still dry and I’ve cleaned them out and scrapped all the old gunck out same for the inside of the grill. I guess I should buy some new pellets to see if that is part of the issue. Should I stick the element 1/4” or 1/2” out? The instructions says between those two options

When I ran the grill I also put in the temperature probes for the meat and those where giving me a different temp then the grill itself would that make a difference?
