Questions about a new purchase.

First post here but I’ve been watching and reading for a while. My Austin XL is a total loss after an unfortunate accident last weekend. I’m committed to getting another pit boss product since I had fantastic luck with the XL and customer service. Question is what’s everyone’s thoughts on going to the 5 series vertical versus replacing with another XL or similar? FYI I never used the sear option on the old unit.

Depends on what you want to do. If you're looking to just smoke, go with the vertical. If you're going to grill and also smoke, go with the Austin or another in your price range.

Welcome to the group yomamiboy. I have the KC combo and like the grill & smoker all in one unit. Takes up less space from when I had my old offset smoker.

I have one of each and use the horizontal grill for small meals and the vertical for sausages , jerky and large parties. I don't use the sear feature either but do prefer the horizontal for chicken and if I do steaks and don't want to wait for charcoal. burgers and dogs hit the propane grill

The Brunswick is a great choice. I love mine, it produces excellent BBQ.
