I have a Pit Boss Classic. I've had it for about 3 months. Recently about a couple hours into the smoke it snuffs itself out. I take everything off the grill and find that the pellet bowl is just filled with pellets. The auger is working correctly; it's not continuously going. What's the deal?

Do you have the P setting on 4? I have found the higher the setting the more likely it is to flame out. When it does it just keeps feeding pellets to try and get up to temp and snuffs out the flame. I think I have had it happen 3 or 4 times (including last weekend). Since I have 2 Pit Boss's I just fired up the other one and moved my meat to that one while I took all the pellet overflow out.

No idea why it is flaming out. I suggest calling Pit Boss and leaving a call back number.

I had the same problem on my first 2 long cooks. Try cleaning out the flame pit before starting your next cook. Since I started doing that I've done an 8 hour shoulder and 6 hour ribs with no issues
