Pit Boss app flashing BIGGER HOTTER HEAVIER

I just purchased the pit boss 1150 today and I'm trying to set up the app. After installing the app and accepting it to connect to my bluetooth, all it is doing is flashing BIGGER HOTTER HEAVIER. Has any else experience this problem? If so, how did you fix it? I have tried unistallling and reinstalling the app, shut down my phone and updated my phone with no results. I have a iphone12. Thank you.
