New to pellet smokers, looking for something that i can set and forget. PB1150ps , OK Joe barrel. previously cooked on Ole Hickory pits big commercial cookers. Exploring different pellet for flavor and low ash residue. ordered some mods for smoker, got to tweek it . wife just shakes her head.
Brand of pellets people are using?

Welcome to the group!!
I use competition blend or apple
I layer pellets and wood chips for more smoke flavor
Wife will be fine lol
Mine was the same way at first but she loves it now
Roll that smoke 💨!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Welcome to the forum. I use Cookin Pellets, best I've found. Also I recommend "set and check" and not set and forget. There is always a chance of flame outs, grease fires and other things that can cause problems for you. Just my opinion though.

I agree Ant!!
Anything can happen at any given time and then there’s days all is good

Welcome. I use mostly competition blend mixed with a little charcoal and sometimes some Bear Mountain Gourmet (my local Lowe's is nearby). I'll admit to blending in some Kingsford hickory in my smoke tube. My experience with the 1150 has been great but in my opinion it's a much better smoker than it is a grill. I use my Austin XL to grill steaks and my 1150 for any cooks over an hour. YMMV

Welcome! Currently using B&B. I got a bag of oak, hickory and cherry, and mix the three. I also used Bear Mountain gourmet recently, and that one may be my favorite of all that I used. Not sure I could pass a blind taste test though.
