Just bought the new PB 1150 from Lowes yesterday and got it seasoned. Today after reading about the control panel needing to be updated I checked mine before doing ribeyes and was happy to see the new updated board already on the one I purchased. It does the 10 degree increments and held temp perfectly. Looks like PitBoss has listened and got things right.

I'm happy with my new smoker after moving over from another brand. And look forward to sharing my experiences here with everyone and learning from you PB Pro's.

How does one obtain the updated control panel?
I purchased an 1150 combo about 2 months ago and every other time I use it, it works perfectly.
It has difficulty holding temp, the probes display incorrect temp......

Have had great luck with chicken breasts, London broil, tri-tip, prime rib and pork butt (the best!) so far.

Call Pit Boss and request the updated control panel. They should send you one. Its pretty easy to switch out. I found a video on YouTube from Mr. Garage that was very informative. I do recommend taking a picture of the wires before you disconnect as a reference for installation of the new one. Good luck.

Thank you! I'm a fan of taking photos to re-assemble anything.

I also do love to have photos for memories. You need to keep an eye out on my Lowes clearance racks down the middle aisle. All of the AWP brand tool bags and pouches are clearance for about 50-75% off, I picked up the electricians bag for $5

I bought the 1150 about 2 months ago with the old board. After about a week and numerous calls, I got in touch with CS. I was told the board was on back order 4-6 weeks, should be closer to 4 weeks. It has been 40 days today, nothing. You can supposedly track your order, no luck with that. Not pleased at all with their customer service!! Good luck with getting your replacement. I will be taking mine but to Lowe’s if I don’t receive the part soon. It will not hold temp below 300 degrees.

I emailed PB last week about a replacement controller and they told me 4 - 6 weeks but I got an email mine already shipped. I originally opened a case back in March so maybe that is why they are sending me one so quickly.
