Lift-off griddle on tailgate?

I have the 2 burner lift-off griddle. Do you think it’s safe to set it on my truck’s tailgate to use? I have a spray-in bed liner.

I’m worried about the heat.

I don’t see an issue as long as you have enough height from the tailgate
If not I’d use bricks
