Has anyone tried the Pit Boss Leftover Buffalo Turkey Sliders recipe?

As the Holiday season comes to a close, you might be faced with the age-old question: What can I do with all this leftover turkey? Here in the Pit Boss Kitchen, no food goes to waste — especially not when it was smoked with care on the pellet grill. This year, turn your leftover smoked turkey into these Buffalo Turkey Sliders that make an easy lunch or dinner as you wind down and recover from a busy week.

⭐Pro Tip: Cook your sliders on the top rack of your grill or smoker to avoid burning the bottom of the rolls.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups leftover shredded turkey
  • 1/2 cup Frank's RedHot or your favorite hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • Pit Boss Smoked Salt & Pepper Rub, to tasteAdd To Cart
  • Pit Boss Chicken & Poultry RubAdd To Cart
  • 12 King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Dinner Rolls
  • 2 cups or 12 slices of pepper jack cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Pickles, optional

Special Tools

Directions

  1. Preheat your pellet grill or smoker to 350°F/175°C.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the shredded leftover turkey, hot sauce, ranch, garlic, BBQ rub, and salt and pepper. Mix well to coat the turkey evenly.
  3. Slice the rolls in half, keeping the tops connected as one sheet and the bottoms as another. Place the bottom sheet in a large foil pan and spread the buffalo turkey mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Layer the pepper jack cheese slices on top of the turkey and add a few dill pickle chips over the cheese for added crunch and flavor, if desired. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese and turkey.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with Italian seasoning. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls using a sauce mop or brush.
  6. Cook in the preheated smoker on the top rack for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the smoker, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

I got this recipe in an email this morning. Seems rather ingredient-intensive, but was somewhat inspired. So, I put reheated leftover turkey slices on reheated leftover dinner rolls for today's breakfast, and my "basic sliders" were AWESOME! I am a simple man...
