Newbie here. Currently only have a gas grill that’s on its last leg and planning to get a pellet and gas grill combo. Debating the KC Combo from Walmart or the Pro 1100 from Lowe’s. Leaning towards the Pro 1100 since it appears to have more capacity for the gas grill and is $100 less. Any other thoughts or suggestions on which model is better or even other pellet gas combo grills you’d suggest before I pull the trigger? Appreciate all feedback positive or negative. Wanting to make the best decision. Thanks.

The more I read in this forum it sounds like I should steer clear of the KC Combo or maybe even the Pro 1100 or PitBoss in general. Seems like nothing but talk of underperformance and issues.

I have had my KC Combo since May and had no problems. Most problems you'll see is because people do not read the manual on how to operate it.

Quality was not a priority when designing and constructing the 1100, paint is peeling in several places and as I reviewed warranty info - paint is excluded.
Deterioration is expected on any grill/smoker buy I would think a 6 month old unit wouldn't have this issue under normal use.
I will not be a repeat customer.

Not sure that this is entirely true... I read the manual, the unit came with a non working fan out of the box. Took almost 3 months to get the replacement from them. The "cleanout" feature, just plain and simple doesn't work. Temp fluctuations on the smoker side and swing 20-50 degrees. None of these things have to do with not reading the manual.

I have notices on mine the more I use it the better the temps are holding. I use a long thin rod to shift my ash during long cooks. Sorry to hear about the fan not working and the time to get a new one.
