KC combo igniter ERR

I have had the KC Combo for a month or so and haven’t used the smoker side as often as I would like. Out of the box I got an error code that wasn’t in the manual. After several tries to reach customer service, they couldn’t diagnose a problem, so the shipped me a new control panel. When I took the cover off to replace it, there was a wire unplugged- which fixed the problem without replacing the panel. My first smoke was a little learning curve but went fine but the second time around the smoker shut off with an ERR code and a flashing igniter. It was the end of the smoke, so I didn’t follow up- I figured it might need a good cleaning. But the next time it did it again after only 20 minutes- set to smoke and flame roaring but the igniter ERR. Turn it off, turn it back on and it works for 15 minutes or so and then shuts down again. This is how I finished my cooking session. Watching it shut down and restarting it for 3 hours!! NOT how I want to smoke!!
Anyone have any ideas or advice? The igniter obviously works, because a fire will start.

I believe that is a temperature probe error. Looks like a bad temp probe which is a common issue with new smokers.

I suppose the best way to get a temp probe is to get in touch with customer service? I hope it’s that simple. I want this giant to work!!!

I am having a similar issue. I bought my kc combo from walmart about a month or two ago. On the pellet side i will set the temp to s for the first few minutes, then set it to High. After about 10 minutes there won’t be a flame and the grill will not heat any longer. I have had the grill just stop working in the middle of my cook the last 5 times. Its very consistently not working.

pellets are in the fire pot, fan seems to work, but nothing lighting up, i am thinking its the igniter but the customer service is so bad nobody is able to tell me how to fix it.

i sent a support case about a month ago and still have not received anything from customer service except their auto reply email.

such a horrible product for paying $800 for this thing.

does anyone know how to solve this issue?

yes call them and leave a call back number. But you'll have to wait as it takes them forever to send out parts. I ended up ordering one from Amazon and it had next day shipping. When the one from PB arrived a few weeks later I just kept it as a back up.

I had a bad igniter and called customer service on 09/09/20 and they said they were sending me a new igniter and still haven't received it. i bought one on amazon and it fixed the problem but the temperature probe does not read accurate it reads 40 to 50 degrees low and they are sending me one but I wont hold my breath

I have a ck combo and pitboss is telling me my igniter is bad, I'm getting the err code? I switched igniter and same thing?

Err with the hot rod flashing is the probe? Pittboss told me it wasn't on the kc? I bought a new rod, still does it, customer service said maybe the controlle board? Are the probes interchangeable?
