I am new here but not to smoking. I built my own custom smoker a few years ago. I just got a Pitboss 1150 pro ps2. Wow, it is so easy to use!!! Wood is always so much work! This thing makes it so easy. The meat comes out moist. It does not have the same smoke taste but I may be able to make it better. Hope to be able to help some of the new guys.

Welcome, you can always use a smoke tube or two if you like more smoke flavor.

Yeah I'm going to work with the wood flavors first and control the smoke flow from the chimney. My first pellets that I used were a mix of hickory Apple and cherry. It was a mild mix. We love mesquite so I may try one smoke with mesquite to see just how strong the smoke flavor will be.

I like shorter beef cooks with mesquite. Tri tip or rib steaks. I also like mesquite chicken.

For more smoke try a lower temp.

Or a smoke tube which has been suggested.

Yep I just did a smoke with the smoke mode so I will see how that goes. To be honest I didn't see a lot of smoke compared to not using the smoke mode. I don't really want to use a smoke tube that's just an extra step.
