I heard of people putting a heat defuser under the sear plate in the PB1100p. Anyone else try that to cut down on the hot spots?

I installed a 4 window shorty plus the left side gap heat deflector on my PB1100PC2, steady temperatures and no hot spot noticed. Placebos or not, I am happy.I heard of people putting a heat defuser under the sear plate in the PB1100p. Anyone else try that to cut down on the hot spots?
No. I have the thin baffle at the firebox level under the sear and heat plate. Most of the images I have seen with the defuser installed does not have that.Do you mean it appears that many do not have the arched drip / sliding sear plate over the burn pot ? I believe we all still have the plate in place, the flame tamer installs between the burn pot and drip/ sear plate.
I think the images, mine above, were just to show the flame tamer.
These are the pictures with the sear plate removed. Do you leave that baffle or remove it?Same for mine, cover and sliding sear plate temporarily removed so you can see the flame tamer orientation.
