Thanks, I’ll have to try it out

For what it's worth, I tried the 3 window flame tamer on my 1600PSE, and the biscuit test was worse than no flame tamer. Next I tried the 4 window (installed like the picture) and that made the biscuit test better than no flame tamer.

I used this one on my 850 and it made a big difference. Mine had a pretty serious hot spot that would overcook my brisket in the center. The 850 isn't big enough to avoid that spot with a brisket and this did the trick. Seems like ribs cook more evenly too.

It's much larger than the others and covers the whole end of the burn pot. It's much thicker gage steel as well.

Smoke Daddy Flame Tamer.

Do you mean it appears that many do not have the arched drip / sliding sear plate over the burn pot ? I believe we all still have the plate in place, the flame tamer installs between the burn pot and drip/ sear plate.

No. I have the thin baffle at the firebox level under the sear and heat plate. Most of the images I have seen with the defuser installed does not have that.

Same for mine, cover and sliding sear plate temporarily removed so you can see the flame tamer orientation.
These are the pictures with the sear plate removed. Do you leave that baffle or remove it?
