Fire in Firebox

Have a Pit Boss vertical series 4. I am getting a fire in the fire box. 2nd time it has happened. Smoker is 12 months old, no other issues. Anyone with similar issues?

Can you explain you fire better?

Fire in the fire box is normal. It gets larger as pellets are dropped into the fire box.

I believe the auger runs in 18 second dumps. Then waits for temperature to drop before another 18 second run.

So you maybe seeing the flame after a pellet drop?
