Hello all. I got my PB last week and already smoked some amazing ribs! Considering how often I will be cleaning out the area under the burn pot cover, and that that there is a lip to the left and right holding it up, do you think it is necessary to have the two screws in the back? I am keeping the two in front but I really don't see any excessive forces that would warrant the other two.

Thanks for any advice!!

Sounds like you have a vertical PB. I am not familiar with those but I wanted to welcome you to the forum.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't realize there were other Brunswick models. Would be really interested in those. Could you post a link? Thanks!!

There is only 1 Brunswick I think. But Pitboss makes vertical and horizontal cookers. I have a 1600 pro series which is a horizontal pellet grill. I'm sure someone with a Brunswick will chime in.

Oh, gotcha! I was thinking this was a Brunswick forum. I'll be more specific in the future.

I'm also looking for a way to clean out the burn pot without dismantling the floor of the smoker. The manual says it should be cleaned out after every smoke.

Yes, the burn pot does need cleaning. Just slide it out once it is cold and dump the ash out. Floor of the smoker maybe every few months if you use it a lot. There's 4 #3 Philps screws and it will come right out to vacuum.

I removed the 4 screws, its easy access to the burn pot now for cleaning. It slides right out. The cover wieghs 15lbs. It isnt moving without the screws, its perfectly secure. Youll also notice 5lbs of ash under the cover. It needs regular cleaning.
