I know this is a Pit Boss forum but I wanted to share my drum project with those who I feel will appreciate it. I got everything painted yesterday and assembled today. I still have a few finishing touches to do. Some touch up paint and the chimney cap needs to go on. I might season the inside tomorrow. And maybe a small cook to get a feel for it. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

I'm thinking a small butt. It's a really forgiving meat. I just wanted to learn something new. I wasn't going to pay $1200 for a Gateway drum so I got the parts from UDS.com but there are lots of videos on how to build them with parts from the hardware store.

Looking forward to hearing more

I would ask the members here, is it appropriate to post cooks on the drum on this site?I'm willing to share my results just want to make sure it's OK to do so.
Definitely. I've posted some Weber cooks on here before when I've tried something new. Hopefully everyone was okay with that.

Nice kit! I just drug two drums home from work last week. Going to hack one together like the first one I built 40 years ago.

That looks like the perfect brisket smoker!

I like the exhaust stacks pulling from that level, if that's what I am picking up from pics.
Yes the kit came with short intakes for the bottom of the barrel. I bought the long pipes because I liked the over all look better and I don't have to bend over to adjust air flow.
