Thanks for the answer. I am new to smoking, have not received my smoker yet. How long do you estimated how often you need to refill. I understand it is temperature related, hotter the quicker it evaporates. I don't want to lose heat opening the door.
 
Depends on the temp. Low temp you don't need to add it much. I open mine from time to time to check on the meat. You don't lose a lot of temp having it open for a min or two. If you're cooking at 300-350 or higher then you'll need to add water more as it will start to boil off.
