Long story short- I was given a Lockhart Platinum that worked perfectly for about a year. It is now and has always been stored inside.
One day went out to use it, was heating it up, went inside for 10 min. Came back out to the grill and the board was completely dead. No lights, no nothing.
Bought a replacement OEM board put it in, it worked 2 times, and did the exact same thing.
The fuse on both boards were still intact. It was plugged directly into a wall outlet and our power is seemingly very steady.
Looking at the wires I don't see where anything got warm or melted or has rubbed against anything. I have not completely disassembled the smoker and looked at the auger or fire-pot wires, but they were working perfectly until the board quit.
Is this a known issue? Is there an aftermarket controller that works better?
I like the unit but am a little frustrated with it.
