Timer will not shut off

I am on version 2.7.1 of the Pit Boss Grills app on my android phone. When i set the timer, it works great, but it will NOT shut off. It beeps until i close the app. Is there a way to correct this? I see the popup when it is done, so I would think I simply tap it, and the timer would stop beeping, but this is not the case. Any thoughts?
