Side Handle

I have an 1100 Pellet combo grill and was wondering if anyone has added a side handle for the lids? When I use the handle to raise and lower the lids, the lid touches my forearm and it is a hot against my delicate skin and I cried. I don’t want to cry any more. It makes my dog worry. I searched the internet and haven’t seen any mods for this.
