If I did not add two smoke tubers during cooking, I would have returned the unit. What your buying is an oven.

I've used my vertical almost every weekend for 3 years. Always get tons of smoke when starting on smoke mode. I'll leave it there for at least 90 min to 2 hours on most cooks. Most of the time I don't use any smoke tubes. Just depends on the mood I am in. Just takes some learning.

We love our PBV4PS2, plenty of smoke for me and the wife, anymore and it would be like licking the insides of the wood stove.
