PIT BOSS PROBE REPLACEMENT

I'm curious if it's just the actual probes that are having accuracy issues,or is it the control panel? If I purchase another brand with the same 3.5mm end will I have better luck or should I go with external probes and not use the ports on my 1600 at all? Thanks in advance for any insight.

I use both PB and others (bought thru Amazon) in my Lockhart.
Have double checked with a separate probe wifi unit.
Temps are running about the same with updated controller.

Bottom line: Probes from outside source--are OKAY!
