I made an account just to post this update about the v3 firmware updating issues. I found a start to my solution over on reddit, but this is the final resolution to get my PB 1250 Platinum working properly

Bought a new PB Platinum 1250. Downloaded app 1.2.1 could not get it to update, failed at 3% and connectivity was spotty. Followed u/TiltMeLater recommendation and went to 1.1.3, and it updated perfectly, but then there was another update when I went back to 1.2.1 and this time that update failed at 8%. Went back to 1.2.0 and the second update went through without issue. Now back to 1.2.1 app version and everything works perfectly. It is a hassle, I know, but it does work and big thanks to u/TiltMeLater for putting us in the right direction with these v3 controllers.

Congratulations on being a fellow Platinum 1250 owner. Bitchin grill. Lovin mine. Grill being so new and a Walmart exclusive there's not a lot of reviews or videos on it. Anyway, where do you find previous versions of the Android "Pit Boss Grills" app for download?

I answered my own question. Google is your friend. Search "previous versions of the pit boss grills app". Here's a screenshot of one of the sites to download.

I realize this is a first world problem (you mean I have to get up off my couch to see what my pit temp is?) but I'm interested because I'm new and I've struggled with the app on all 3 of my cooks. I can get it to connect and show temps, but the app never updates as the temps actually rise. I called Pit Boss customer service last week, spoke to a very nice lady who said they are very well aware of the issues, and they are working on a fix. So after stumbling onto this thread this morning, I decided to check what version of the app I have on my iPhone. Turns out I have 1.2.2, which the Apple app store says was released just yesterday?!? Shame on me for not checking before, I have no idea what version I had last week. I'll post back here after my next cook to see if anything is different.

I don’t want one but I saw yesterday that someone updated the app and it worked 🇺🇸🇺🇸
