Pit Boss 1600 griddle

I have a question ,
I have a Pit Boss Pro Series 1600 as you may or may not know the 1600 comes with a very nice griddle insert (very heavy duty ) My question is on griddle position ? it can be positioned in the center or the left or right ? also if positioning it in the center directly over the fire pot would you leave the sear plate open exposing the griddle to direct flame ?
What say you ? opinions and expierences appreciated.

I've never used the griddle insert on mine. But I would say center placement with sear plate open to get the temp up. If it gets too hot than shut the sear plate.

If you use the sear feature then would not place it in the middle, place it to one side or the other. You may need to experiment where to place it based on how it performs
