I recently purchased the pitbull 700 DX. Within the last month.
Both times that I have used it, it has taken between 45 and 55 minutes to reach 375°
I tried using it for a third time today and the unit would get up to 220° and stop climbing. I would hit the temperature control button to confirm my set point and then it would continue heating. This procedure had to take place multiple times to get it to the set point.

Any ideas or is there a factory reset I can do?

I, too, have a 700DX.
It worked great for the first four cooks. One the fifth cook, the temp would climb to 280° or so when I had it set to 225°.
Pit Boss said it was the temp sensor and sent me a new one.
Problem persisted.
Pit Boss said the new sensor they sent me was probably bad, so they sent me another one.

Pit Boss said it was the control panel, so they sent me a new one.
BINGO! Problem solved!
My grill now works awesome. I've done two cooks (one for four hours and one for nine hours) and the temp never went over 5° above what I had it set for.
