PB1230 CS1 Prob's & Mods

I've had a 1230CS since May-ish? Out of the box, the controller display was very sporadic when adjusting the temperature. Meaning, while turning the dial at a slow, controllable rate, the temperature displayed would jump up or down anywhere from 5 to 100 degrees. No, I never called them. Has anyone else experienced this with their controllers? Mine looks like the one in the attached pic.
