My PB Lexington controller display readout is garbled (see pics attached). Does this mean I need a replacement controller?

Background information:

Purchased PB Lexington new approx. 2 years ago (Walmart). Did not register it w/ PB (my error). Mostly cook pork ribs and chicken wings. I have used PB, then Kirkland/Costco pellets, then back to using PB Competition pellets. Unit has been and is garage kept, only rolled out to do a cook. Unit had been working great!

Usage and issue timeline:

Original burner tube stopped lighting. Replaced burner tube, from company XYZ (not PB) obtained from Amazon.

After replacing the burner tube, the Lexington behaved differently than normal regarding igniting the burner tube and controlling pellet flow to burner bowl. I had to set the temperature higher than "smoke" to get the burner tube to ignite at all. Then I had to set a higher temp setting to reach the desired actual cooking temp as measured and displayed on the controller display. What I'm saying here is after replacing the burner tube, the cooking controller behavior was different than out-of-box normal cooking/controller behavior I experienced for the first 1.5 years approx. Even with this abnormal behavior, the controller actual temp display showed "digits". This has progressed to "garble" displayed.

Additional question: I recently purchased a PB Austin XL/Onyx (Walmart). I registered this one(!) and received 20% off orders from PB catalog. So I order a replacement WIFI controller for the Austin and a front shelf for the Austin using the discount.

After I install the WIFI controller into the Austin I will have the original (non-WIFI) controller that came out. Would the Austin controller work in the Lexington (fit and function)? On their faces the controllers look almost the same (the Austin is fancier color display).

Questions are:

Do I need a replacement controller for the Lexington?
Would my original Austin controller (replaced w/ WIFI controller) work w/ the Lexington, fit and function?

Thanks for reading this far and offering help w/ my inquiries!

After a phone conversation with Pit Boss customer support, PB is sending a replacement controller. They sent me an email to reply to with the photos of the Lexington controller with garbled display, attached.

I went into the Walmart web site and in my user account I found my receipt. I registered the Lexington with Pit Boss, with upload of the receipt, so will receive the replacement controller under warranty.
