Just not getting the smoke

Frustrated... I have a pro series for a few months now and now its just wont smoke like it supposed to. Zero smoke ring. Its basically an oven. I am using Pit Boss pellets and when it first heats up it will smoke, but after 5 minutes it stops smoking. If I shut it down it will smoke while it cools down and when I start it back up it will smoke for about 5 minutes. I vacuum out the pot before hand as well and keep full water. This is all at the smoke setting - 200. I never go over 225 setting. I can have this thing running right outside an open window and I dont even smell the smoke whereas a month ago I couldnt keep the window open because the whole house would smell like smoke.

Try smoke tubes if you can get it to smoke up again...

If you have it on the smoke setting, and it isn't smoking, I would call tech support. That's the setting where it's supposed to be doing the magic. If it isn't, like you said, you have an outdoor oven, not a smoker.

Do not get a smoke tube that is not going to fix your issue. The issue is the control board is not operating your auger correctly. If it operating correctly you should see your temp swing a bit this tells me that your auger is feeding pellets and then it kind of smothers them drawing smoke then your temp will increase some as now the pellets are burning then the same cycle the temp decreases as pellets are feeding and smothering an so on.

Call Pit Boss so they can get a new controller out to you with a new probe.
