Hello everyone i bough by 4 series pro vertical smoker on 12/27/22 i've cooked on it several times and at first though everything took longer to cook than usual. So started checking temps with new store bought over temp gauges and i have a 50 degree difference between what I set my temp to and whats in the cabinet. I know from top to bottom rack and side to side it should vary some but this much? Take today i had to set my temp to 340 to hold 275 inside the cabinet to smoke my pork butt. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Welcome from Texas to the group
Do you clean the grill and temperature sensor after each cook?
Stop’s temperature swings
Hopefully this helps you 🇺🇸🇺🇸

If it is cold out, it's normal to increase your temp to get the temp you want inside. I think the hot air from the vents affect the sensor, 25-50 deg I believe is normal if you call customer support. I have the same smoker and love it.

Agreed on this. My zero outside temp smoking adventure over Christmas showed this pretty well. I had to set the controller to 250 to 260 or so to get a fairly stable 225 internal temp at the brisket level. In warmer ambient temps, the setting difference is not so drastic.

Thanks for the welcome I have not but i will be sure to before next cook and monitor temps. With it being so new and doing this from the start I'm worried that is not the issue but I will verify and get back to you

Ok finally got to smoking again today in Texas its 38 degrees out my smoker sets on a patio blocked from the north wind. With that being said smoker temp set to 300 and here's what I get on my gauges in the cabinet also i did clean the temp probe i have shown a picture of that as well. Also when i opened the door the controller read 290 degrees i just took the picture after i took the pictures of the inside probe. 40 degree difference and its done this when its 75-80 degrees out as well as today. Im at a loss other than just knowing i have to jack up the temp by 40 degrees
