The owner's manual says to clean out the burn pot after each smoking session, but isn't specific about how to do that. I had a problem in my second smoking session where the ignitor went out several times. I suspect that cleaning the burn pot would keep this from happening. What's the best way to clean out the burn pot? Thanks.

If it's like my PBV4PS2 smoker, there are 4, #3 Philips head screws you need to remove then lift the plate out of your way and vacuum up the ash. An extension on an impact drill is handy.
Dang! Glad my 1150 just pops out the bottom.
I know me I wouldn't put those screws back after I took them out the first time.

I misread that....burn pot, .I was thinking that plate we have to remove to clean under like we do now and then Steve.
Which reminds me, I need to do that. I can tell it needs it when the ash starts creeping from under that cover. I shop vac that part. I also reverse the vac hose and use it to blow up into those side vents. I get ash coming out of there too.

The igniter only runs the first four minutes of the startup cycle.
Use a shop vac and clean out the ash before every startup. Also, if so equipped, remove th 4 screws for the heat diffuser and clean under that one often.
