Hello I live south of Boston.
Well my 13 year old grill needs replacement and I've been wanting a smoker for a while so I've decided to order a pit boss 1100 series.

This will be my first smoker, so brand new to smoking myself.

Right now I'm reading through to figure out which pellets to get.

Any general tips are of course welcome and appreciated.

Welcome from NH . Finding the right pellet for me was trial and error. I tried alot of brands and flavors before I settled on ones I like. I usually use Bear mountain or Cookin pellets now.

As far as pellets, depends on your taste for a lot of smoke, hickory, oak or mesquite. Lighter smoke would be apple, alder, cherry.
And what type of meat your smoking.

I haven't decided exactly what amounts of meet.

Ribs and brisket for sure, maybe chicken.....

I searched for the right pellet to begin with. Now I buy what's the cheapest for the hopper and buy the different flavors for the smoke tubes and mix with wood of choice.

Similar here, relying on the tubes quite often for flavor pellets
