Well crap, been a Pit Boss owner for a year now. Never knew there was a PB forum. But. Im glad I found it!! Having issues with my PB Pro Series 1. Getting too hot. 2. Smoke rolling from my pellet hopper. 3. Three temp indicators, none of them matching.

Pro Series 820. Got a new mother board last spring because the old one took a crap. No real problems during the spring..Started having pot and auger issues cleaned them out real well. Started it up as if new. It can't seem to regulate Temps very well. 100 degree fluctuations and tons of smoke rolling from the pellet hopper on start up.

Have you called tech support? 877 303 3134 option 2. Might be a bad temp probe and an augur. Under warranty.

Welcome to the group!
I own a 820 as well.
If you don’t clean it after each use and vacuum out the fire box it will cause this issue
I also learned on here to sift the pellets through a colander into a bucket. Store extra pellets in a air tight container
Too much pellet dust will cause this because of flair up which in return lights it up in the auger.
Hopefully this helps but as mike said , call pitboss support if this doesn’t solve the issue
Please update and roll that smoke 💨!

Thank you for the insight. I have used the strainer method to sift pellets. What a pain in the butt. I keep my pellets in 5 gallon buckets (Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Firehouse subs pickle buckets) for different flavors.
